Any suggestions for a malware or spyware software program? My computer is like a snail riding a turtle. McAfee clearly has done nothing. ugh. Thank you.
Try sophos home. It's free so if it doesn't make a difference, you haven't really lost anything.
Steve I downloaded this but it won't let me install it until I remove McAfee and I'm not doing that. Thank you though. @mort I will check out the one you posted. I nabbed the culprit. it was some analytics bs cte.exe something. I zapped it.
I downloaded the Malware bytes but every time I click on a post here this dreniq.com was blocked comes up. It seems to have bombed the malware though. Thanks @mort

Any specific page you got that alert on? That's an adware redirect & as we pay to not have ads, you shouldn't even see that alert.

q.dreniq.com pops up on every page I click on. Popped up when I opened this one. Hmm
Oki doki. Let me see if I can pin it down. Could be a dodgy attachment somewhere or a browser plugin that's causing it
Here is a photo of it

This seems to be caused by smiley 51 in Plugins > Manage > Smilie Dropdown. I suggest removing this smiley from the list as the host has expired and it leads to a parked domain.
MalwareBytes and Windows seem to have fallen out, the "Protection Module" of MalwareBytes is clashing with the new fangled Windows Defender and causing system crashes. MalwareBytes can be run without enabling Live Protection but what's the point, it won't find anything until after the malware or whatever has invaded! MalwareBytes are working on a solution, Windows say "not our problem", charming.
