really? Outside (1995), Earthling (1997), and Hours (1999)... crap?
yes hello space boy with pet shop boys was nice, and hours was slighly better than the other two, but not good albums by any means, and reeves certainly didnt raise the standards

I'd be very interested to hear Reeves' input on the songwriting. I read about Perry's departure how "someone" stated that his playing and writing style were not "The Cure" & some friendships were damaged or broken.
I wonder if Reeves will fit what is "The Cure" in their, & our eyes/ears?
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
Actually they have already record a song, almost 20 years ago, haven't they? The one that almost nobody likes it,at least not the studio version. 'wrong number' could have been as a single from Bowie's album from that period back. Imagine him than RS as the singer/voice.
I recall in an interview prior to one of the Summercure shows Robert saying they had already written a couple of songs with Reeves. Whether they have spent time in a studio laying those down is another matter. They have had the time to do so. If there is to be a new release of any sort, it would be criminal not to have him involved I think. Even if they had him re-record all of Porl's parts from 4:13 & the fabled "dark partner" it'd be something
Current line-up seems to be as good as it can be as a live act. Chemistry between them is fine. If they can to record some new stuff? Of course they can. If we (most of the die-hard) fans will like the final result? To be totally honest I don't think so. Last true CURE record was 'Bloodflowers' Reeves Gabrels is a really good guitar player, propably one of the best in the world right now and he is really smart as well. Jason Cooper is The Cure's most loyal soldier,Roger is a talented piano player full of ideas. Won't mention Mr.Bicycle man. No need to. Point is : does Robert Smith wants to release a new album?even if it will be with material mostly from '4:13' sessions.
Let's make-believe that after the new year Robert and crew head back into the studio to give us their next full length album.
If you had a choice for it to sound similar to any other album, what would you like?
Do you want another Faith, another KMKMKM, or add to the Trilogy?
Also, if you could pick any line-up to record this long awaited album, who would you pick?
Here is mine:
Sound similar to Wish
Robert - Guitar - Vocals
Simon - Bass
Roger - Keyboard
Lol - Drums
Perry - Guitar
Odd, huh?
Now back to topic and to answer your question : Current line-up would do for me Artwork : Andy/Pearl Producer : Dave M Allen Sound similiar to : the second pt of '4:13'.

1. Outside is a stunning album - I could rave about it all day.
If theres anything thats obvious about the Bowie albums with Reeves on its that they all sound different and they all sound like Bowie, not Reeves - a Cure album with Reeves would still sound like the Cure. Also, Reeves was the best thing to happen to Bowie for years and helped kickstart his artistic career, something worth thinking about for a band that seem to have stalled with their studio work..

Do you think Pearl would continue to do artwork since Robert is/was pretty adamant about the fact that Pearl will not return to the band...ever?

There's not a snowball's chance in hell Pearl will be let anywhere near The Cure again.

It really makes you wonder... there has been no word that Janet and Pearl divorced and since they both come from very catholic families, I wonder if they just have a mutual separation? Didn't Pearl move to LA? Or was that Boris?
& that prolly irked Robert, hence the snarky comments at one of the shows Suffice to say, Pearl will most certainly not be involved at all & that'll also be the reason the remaining 4:13/14 songs have been locked away somewhere. If a new album does materialise, it'll be material he had no involvement in writing.
