With the tour over, I thought, as the recent production was pretty mind blowing visually aswell as sonically, what has been your stand out light show for a The Cure live song? Doesn't have to be a 2016 production, but I guess there will be a few in there that cannot be ignored. But, for you, what has been the most impressive visual? & why?
I know you will have some faves, so in theatre tech parlance........... STBY LX1........... LX1 GO!

Interesting subject... It's hard to choose, really.
Of course, my fave will be the Just Like Heaven visual, that I think goes very well with the song, but there's so many that I love !
The Shake Dog Shake one is great to start a show, with their shadows on the screens. I also particulary love the ones for Out Of This World, FDEOTDGS, TLDOS, Bloodflowers, It Can Never Be The Same, A Forest, TSDWAY, High and This Twilight Garden.
Sorry if I named too many.
Also, I totally agree that the recent production is spectacular.
I found this tough to nail down just the one. I thought the lighting for The Drowning Man at the Reflections shows was pretty special. So very much like water, especially with the smoke onstage, but the 2016 lighting for Give Me It was insanely good. One Hundred Years & SDS deffo get an honourable mention, but Give Me It was so full on it'll be burned into my brain forever

I agree, Give Me It and the light show for this song is a highlight of the tour for me. I couldn't even get a decent picture of the performance because of the furious blinding lights... Stunning !
I liked the Shake dog Shake one for 2016 as I thought it was a nod to Concert - the cure live album. But over all I was really impressed by the 2016 lighting as the videos don't do it justice, I was like wow for most of the show.
Having not been to any tour other than this one ( ), I was quite impressed with it all, but a couple stand outs for me were The Last Day of Summer because the tree starting out so vivid and fading captured the melancholy of the song so well, and Watching Me Fall was also stunning, the blood slowly dripping down the screens captured a slow pain. I guess I have a slight bias towards Bloodflowers...I loved all those screens very much.

Your not making this easy steve , so I'll stick just with 2016.
Its been a bit hard to narrow down the concerts that I saw live and on Youtube, but I think I have managed to narrow down a few things that I enjoyed.
I loved the idea of the 5 panel screens. Each song was covered by its own unique background, some to the most obvious, like Pictures of You and Lovesong, It can never be the same, A forest. Some songs repeated or had similar themes presented by a slight lighting variations. Take for example theses song. -Screw (Mountain view, California) -InBetween days (Berlin) -10:15 (Wembley) -Freakshow (Frankfurt) -The Blood (Barcelona)
On these particular songs each member was depicted on each panel starting from left to right which tracked each member movements as the song played on, which was total mind overload.
I loved the 100 years dark/gray background with the Hindenburg theme and what seemed like the remnants of a war/disaster. Pornography multi-color background at Madison Square garden was surreal and bloody good. The red atmosphere was perfect! I also liked the reverse camera angle of PUSH..
So many to choose from but one stands above the rest. Shake dog Shake with its prerecorded gray silhouettes of each member, the color scheme and the ambiance was simply perfect. It sure had people bouncing off the walls, of the seats, and sometimes of each other.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some but those are few that standout for me at this particular moment.

Wow this is great. I really do think this is the best light show of all. Although I did not go to the Bloodflowers tour I think the "space ship" above was probably very cool.
Of the panel videos I will probably have to pick 39 with the giant flames in the back. Shake Dog Shake of course. And Deffo A Forest with the negative forest as if you were moving through it. Light wise Lullaby because the spotlights at one point formed bent spider legs which was insanely clever, or a brilliant coincidence. And I LOVED that the lights on All I want went with Jason's drum beats. Brilliant. The photos on One Hundred Years were really haunting. So I definitely think this was the best year visually. I know they used the panels before but not to this extent. Just brilliant.

Oh I forgot Lullaby ! That giant spider web on the screens fits the song so well... And I agree with you Pipperoo, the light show on this song is brillant.
