On the home strait now, as The Cure head back to blighty & to the city known as Cottonopolis in the Victorian era, Manchester.
Manchester has a diverse & rich history including but its contribution to the music scene cannot be ignored. Getting past the scary eyebrows, the scarier eyebrows & the occasional bloke with a cat on his head, the city was the home town of seminal post punk legends Joy Division who also supported The Cure hundreds of years ago.
But little is known of one of the most important cultural icons of the region. Taking his name from one of Manchester’s suburbs This friendly dragon made it his life’s work to put a smile on the faces of those who relentlessly claim, “It’s grim oop North.”
On their way to town & planning where to leave their coats are @misswillow, Mr & Mrs Mav787 , catsncheese , wilgy , ceri , cris , gothmaz , wren , twochordcool , guillaume , elfink & a complete stranger, dave79 , BlueHughes +1, olivier , deepwater , maccatori + mom, dannistargirl , u2lemonman , razorsedge & ian920 who will be savouring a Manchester caviar & chip butty & a few bottles of Dark Matter*
