Having lived in Malibu for awhile, I can see where the name came from. They did have an awesomely named album: Hairway to Steven. Ultimately this band was a cautionary tale about drugs (or too many drugs if you like) are bad.

Hairway to Steven IS so great that is does kinda cancel out the bad band name.
