Hello...another day of waiting for shows, another game to pre-occupy our minds.
If you could have any 5 people over for a dinner party (for a total of six people at the table), who would they be and why? Too many people and everyone splits into side conversations, so 6 people is plenty. Try to make choices where you think people will get on with each other! Choose up to 5 living people to join you for a night of conversation and games
My dinner party is always changing, but at the moment here is an interesting mix for a stimulating evening (I have a different music-related dinner party so you won't find Robert or any of the boys at this particular party):
1. Werner Herzog because I love his voice, his sense of humor, and I think he could talk about both the esoteric and the common with ease. I am insanely excited for his upcoming film, so he's been at my dinner table ever since I saw the trailer.
2. RuPaul Charles. Anyone in the states who is familiar with RuPaul knows he is a loud personality, a true peter pan who just wants to laugh. And clearly, he gives no eff's to convention, so, my kind of person. And he likes to play games
3. Richard Ayoade, my British crush for a while now. I go gaga for his nerdy ways and intellectual humor.
4. Alison Bechdel, one of my all time favorite cartoonists, procrastinator (I can relate!), and the creator of the Bechdel test for films. Very down to earth, may need someone like that at the table so we don't float off into the atmosphere.
5. Bobke Roll or Jens Voigt. Both are retired cyclists, and both are my favorite personalities in cycling. Maybe Jens edges out Bobke slightly because he is so wacky-we'll see who wins in the sprint finish.
What the heck happened? I don't often have dinner parties where there are so few women...my next dinner party will have to be women-centric
Anyone else care to share their dinner party invite list?
