for whatever reasons i havent given this as much attention as i should have -probably why i'm only 12th in our league but there you go. i thought that as the pool of available players shrinks with each knockout round you had unlimited transfers? obviously not but at least i still have my wildcard...which i suppose i should have saved for the final. never mind. lol
We now have our semi finalists decided and a couple of mouthwatering clashes are in store.
Portugal managed to recover from an early goal by Poland & forced extra time & penalties where Divealdo’s lot snatched victory to set themselves up for a semi final against a rampant Wales team that saw off Belgium in style. However, Wales will be without a couple of key players, not that the press cares. They’ll play this out as “Bale vs Divealdo” as the Really Sadrid strike partners go head to head or “man-bun” to “plastic moulding”.
Germany & Italy decided not to dazzle, playing out a tactical snorefest that ended level thanks to a comedy star jump from Boateng which handed Italy a 78th minute penalty. Still level after 120 minutes, the game somewhat came to life as penalties ensued & Germany, despite missing 3 penalties came away 6-5 winners to send them up against the host team, France who dismantled the mighty Iceland 5-2 in Paris. (England, take note!)
So how does that leave the Millhouse Trophy table? Mav787 ’s Maverickshold the top spot on 289 with AndyG76’s Dead Men Walking27 behind on 262. Hot on Andy’s heels is MiniMav, Michael’s Draped In Red, 3 points further back on 259. Can 4th-7th placed teams catch the leaders? Some smart transfers will be in order that’s for sure with 6 FTs allowed before the semis start on Wednesday night.
So that's it for MD5 & now over to our friends in the Floodland over at MyHeartland for MD6.
