I am really late to this party. ... But glad I finally found it!
... I have been a life-long fan of The Cure. Never really had means growing up, so accrued the albums ever so slowly. This was a good thing, however. Really really dove into each purchase and didn't emerge for sometimes years. I was also careful as I got older, because this band has been like my secret stash, my go-to pleasure. If I was strong enough to resist the next album (or the oldest), I could keep my supply going much longer. Know what I mean?
Well, now I have totally lost control. I am not much of a computer person, and the You Tube phenomenon has completely eluded me, but since going to see The Cure in Dallas in May, I have been hitting every site out there. It is almost too much! So many images, interviews, concert stats, videos, bios, lyrics. I grew up in the MTV age, but didn't always have it. Would have to wait for magazines to feature the band or for the tours (have seen them in Detroit, Baltimore [Columbia], Prague and now Dallas). Now all I have to do is think up some new word combination, and I am deluged. Ahhhh, it has been a nice month.
I knew about Robert's Siouxsie years, but in my bleary-eyed (Pink-Eyed?), relentless scrolling, I discovered The Glove and a plethora of Cure songs I never knew about. My careful consumption all these years has really paid off. I now have some new SONGS and trunks of treasures.
... I am over here in Germany. I am American but ended up in Europe for the past 13 years. Lived in Prague almost a decade. Waiting for the Cologne concert in November!
Really thrilled to have stumbled upon this great forum. Thanks to all who participate. Lots of fun looking through all the pages and had a couple great laughs reading the live commentary during the latest shows. Zapiscz!
Now : I need to research how to add an avatar. Geez.
