screw that. if I limited myself to two pints a week I'd have a nervous breakdown within a month. I would certainly take years off my life if I followed those guidelines!
Not really today, but since the old car shuffled of its mortal coil I've been going everywhere on my bike. I've had the bike for years & not really used it as much as I should because I had the car & that was just easier. Or so I thought. Since using the bike each day, I've discovered all the bike roads in the town & learnt that it's, in some cases, quicker to get to places than it would be with the car. No need to find a parking spot, safer routes with no traffic etc. So, although a new car is now available, I will certainly continue to use the bike unless i really need to transport something heavy. It's also way healthier & my calves are like rock since i've been cycling everywhere.
Today I learned that these blue MTA “Help Point” kiosks, which I never notice anymore because I’ve never seen one used, actually work!
There was an unstable, threatening person on the train this morning and when I got off I wanted to inform someone of what car # they were on so they could be met at the next station. I was able to relay the pertinent info to someone who’s small enough to fit inside the kiosk and answer when the button is pushed. I wonder if any action was taken…
