This is true, but I guess in the view of the band's management it's "less" illegal than sharing the Deluxe Editions? I would imagine that The Cure's passive or pro taping comments in the past put those of us who collect &/or tape in a better position than other fans?
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
I would far rather share material I have paid for than a bootleg, I do, I must break dozens of laws on a daily basis. If I'm paying £30 - £40 for an Ultra HD "blu ray" or £25 for a standard blu ray then I'm sharing with whoever I want, it's not the sharing that's wrong, it's the price. I don't understand why anybody would go to a convert just to record it, that detracts from the enjoyment. I'm there to get drunk, enjoy the night and laugh at wilgy's shoes. My memory still works, ish!, I remember how songs were played, how they sound. I don't need a recording for that. If I wasn't there, fine, an audience recording won't help that.

So, who wants Mockingjay Part 2 Ultra HD?!
"laugh at wilgy shoes." Are they purple winklepickers? I've always wanted winklepickers. Can girls where winklepickers? Can you tell I like typing winklepickers?

Can't pull off winklepickers any more, my toes are shot from playing football!
Late on this thread, but I'm extremely interested in this idea. I'm going to be making a film on the tour, but it will be an experimental sort-of-animation project, probably not recognizable as "concert". If I even roll camera inside the venue. I plan to film outside before and after, but if I used a real camera it would be confiscated by the venue police. So the 4K iPhone seems too good to be true ... it is: I bet the 4K video lasts about 15 minutes before the phone memory fills up. But that's good cause it will be impossible to be tempted into leaving the camera rolling for 3 1/2 hours...More to the point, why go to see someone perform live, to watch the entire thing on a tiny screen?
What are winklepickers? Are they pointy? Do the winkles grow low to the ground or do you have to kick them down out of the tree?
It would be so perfect if you would just fall out the window

hahah yeah wouldn't you get the whole show on an iphone, the new one is 128gb isn't it so if you removed all but the required apps and content surely space wouldn't be an issue there.... ? Battery on the other hand... you could get around that by having a few of those USB chargers in your pocket - would need a real test beforehand though.....
As for videoing the whole lot & watching it thru the scree, i guess that depends on whether or not you can be bothered and are happy to basically miss out on the live experience.... You could pay a friend to go and video it for you... but that would defeat the purpose of you doing it I guess..... and you have to pay for two tickets.... GoPro on your head? or on a stick? I was at a gig recently and right at the back was a GoPro on a pole.. i think the venue or band had something to do with it though....
You could try those sunglasses with a camera in them? I've seen other brands for about $50 but they would be just utter rubbish..... sneaky...

if you want to record with the old generation iphones (30 pin connector), I suggest you go buy a TASCAM ixj2. Now you need microphones for it. Any standard one will do that fits the 3.5 mm jack. If you want to get fancy and use the plug in power, then consider getting a Roland CS-10EM binaural mic set that works with the device's plug in power.
For newer iphones...
get a Zoom attachment. iQ5, iQ6, iQ7 all look decent.
Software for your iphone? Use the R0DE recording app. I think it costs about 5-10 dollars. It will record in lossless for you.
Oh yeah, make sure your iphone has max battery before you do this. Battery life varies in every situation. So I suggest leaving it off as much as possible before the show starts.
I have just put this App on my iphone and am testing it.
I can't seem to figure out how to delete these recordings though. How to delete.
Yeah that sucks. you can erase the recording(s) but data still on the phone, so you need to erase the app and install it again and all is clean then. I just did it this pm to save space.

Here's what I found about deleting from rode website.
Removing the public files is a simple process Attach the device to a computer running iTunes Launch iTunes Select the device in iTunes and open it's Apps tab Select the RØDE Rec or RØDE Rec LE application - The public files will be displayed Select the recordings you would like to delete and tap the deletekey on your keyboard to remove them and clear the space on your device.
I don't have iTunes so can't try it yet, makes no sense you can't delete from phone though
