Another swift GW pulls down the shutters & it was packed with excitement too.
The North London Derby saw Michael Oliver try to beat his previous record of 10 cards in a game as 10 man Arsenal were saved by the Sanchez to quieten down their noisy neighbours. City went on a shooting fish in a barrel spree where Aguero missed out on a hat trick with a penalty miss worthy of Barcelona. The same fate befell Lukaku as the Hammers snuck a late winner after mounting a come back from 2 goals down. Another red card thwarted the Saints’ efforts & they could only muster a draw at home to Sunderland & Swansea make it 2 from 2, plunging the Canaries deeper into trouble. Steve McClaren’s Toon army hosted Bournemouth & politely rolled over for them while Chelski let a slender lead slip through their fingers. But seemingly little can stop the Foxes’ march towards the title, pushing 5 points clear thanks to a single Mahrez goal against an out of sorts Watford. & the theme of 10 men teams continued into Sunday, as Liverpool overturned a Palace advantage after a huge gaffe by McCarthy & a bit of theatre from Benteke that extends The Eagles winless streak to 12 games. The final match of the GW left people wondering if the refs are playing a fantasy card game somewhere. Untidy reduced to 10 in the first half eventually conceded to allow the Baggies a continued charge up the table.
But what of the FPL? Well, the return to scoring form of a few of our faves pushed the point tallies up this week. But who takes the spoils? Let’s have a little look see…. It appears the IGM have found their Industrially Machined Groove with another emphatic victory of 143 points.
EIB 616 - 759 IGM
They now have a strangle hold on the league with a whopping 473 point lead
Both the & go to Johnny Rev 7.0’s FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 who ammassed 98 points.
In the H2H, the EIB slipped for a second week in a row.
EIB 13 - 19 IGM +6 to the IGM & cutting dowm the EIB overall lead to 18 points.
The stays put, as iesus’ Meteora Heartland FC hold a 3 point lead at the top.
At the Stadium of Faith, so as to save me a lawn mowing job, the party booze this week has been poured onto the pitch so that it’s already half cut ahead of GW31
Well played everyone & thanks for dropping by Now I’ll hand it over to Graham for GW30 where I understand the smoke machine is being primed ready for the matches

wow well done us! 473 points is a massive lead but nearly a third of those are from this GW so no sitting on our laurels for us. i'm down in all my leagues this week except for the H2H!!!! btw- i just noticed something: why isnt' Jupiter DN in the H2H league? why is one of th teams the "average"? how does this affect the scoring?

She missed the deadline for joining it, so an average team was dropped in to make up the numbers. They end up playing for us (& not often winning )
