On my way to Brixton now (trains are already a nightmare..), apparently Simon LeBon and Brian Molko are going to be singing tonight but they've done a good job of keeping the rest of the lineup secret
Survived the tube strike to make it home from the Bowie Celebration:
Dead Man Walking Rebel Rebel Sorrow Five Years Golden Years The Man Who Sold The World Diamond Dogs Life On Mars Young Americans Ashes To Ashes Win All The Young Dudes Fame Fashion Sound and Vision Changes Where Are We Now? Stay Aladdin Sane Space Oddity Starman DJ Boys Keep Swinging Ziggy Stardust Moonage Daydream Suffragette City "Heroes" Loving The Alien Jean Genie Let's Dance Under Pressure
Maybe not in that order. The start was a bit wobbly with sound issues and but it got better as it went on. Was a treat to see Adrian Belew with the more recent band members, he was effortless and pretty much skipping he was having so much fun Possibly could have done with a bit more 90s/00s stuff but you can't really argue with that back catalogue.. Mike Garson was a hilariously bad MC, failing to introduce nearly all of the singers until it was too late but Gail was a class act all night and the one band member that made me really miss Bowie on the stage.
She really is! She sang lead vocals on Aladdin Sane, Young Americans and Space Oddity. I really felt for her when Catherine Russell sang Under Pressure cos Gail owned that song for so long.

i really like catherine russell, too. she is an amazing musician. that last touring band was stellar. i was lucky & saw several shows with them. i really enjoy adrian belew, also. looks like you got a nice show!
She's up for a Grammy, apparently - I've not had a chance to check out any of her jazz stuff, she was mostly playing percussion rather than keyboards last night but did get to sing Loving The Alien and Under Pressure and nailed both of them.
I preferred the Gabrels/Alomar/Zachary Alford line up cos it had a bit more of that art-house edge but yeah the Heathen/Reality band were tight.
He played a gig at a church here in this town I live in, I got a freebie and went to it, beatiful setting, it was the priory by the castle, just beautiful and one of the highlights was his Bowie story, going round to Bowies place and hearing Life on Mars for the first time in Bowies living room, 12 string guitar, and then he played the solo piano rendition. Just gorgeous. This one's equally beautiful, thanks for posting pip

You are very welcome! Rick is one of the best keyboardists in Rock. It is truly amazing.
