Bearing in mind that I was contracted to EA for three years and still work for them now on a freelance basis, this came as a bit of a shock!
EA have taken a bashing over the last few years, what with some poor-selling games and the switch from boxed products to DLC and mobile gaming, so maybe ghe ship does need a new captain to steer it in another direction.
At the moment, I feel sorry for the guys and gals at Maxis: a lot of my old BrightLight crew were shipped over to the States to work on SimCity and it's a GOOD game, buggy in places, but good but the servers' capability wasn't tested to destruction, I reckon - which is a HUGE shame.
I love EA, I spent three very happy years there and met some wonderful people: I wish everyone there the very best.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Yes, L. EA is obviously losing some ground. Loved them especially for Fifa Manager series and legendary Command & Conquer, and later on for Star Wars: KOTOR, after BioWare takeover. Toyed with SimCity just a little bit in 1999. What are you up in the world of games?
