The last pie crumbs are wolfed down & GW9 draws its curtains & collapses on the sofa for a well earned cup of Horlick’s.
Let’s have a little glance back at what went down shall we?
Big Sam managed to keep the consistency at Sunderland for his first match in charge & now he has his eyes firmly fixed on next weekend’s derby.
On the other side of Geordie-land, pubs’ stock of Newky Brown took an unexpected boost as the Magpies honoured their outgoing tea lady by not only winning a game, but by hammering in six past PL newbies, Norwich.
The Normal One had to change his plans as Sturridge broke a fingernail or something & his newly fired up Liverpool team lumbered to a glorious goalless draw at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, The Spatial One (who still hasn’t really decided who his starting XI is) sent his youngsters up against the mighty Villa & a returning Diego Costly found his scoring touch without resorting to beating the living cr@p out of the pitch.
Selhurst’s favourite referee repaid the oral compliments from the stands by reducing the home side to ten men, but at least he didn’t hurry off to an Ed Sheeran gig straight after this time.
& lastly, the top three all won with both Sterling & Rooney finally remembering where the goal was.
Back in Fantasy land, quite a few injury worries from the international break saw a few teams get a bit of a hasty re-shuffle. Nonetheless, some strong scores resulted & I am happy to bring you the news that the scores on the doors are as follows:
Recovering from the away defeat last time out, the EIB earned a home win this week.
EIB 603 - 573 IGM
Making a GW differential of +30 to EIB & clawing back the overall differential to IGM to +163 points.
But still a ways to go
Johnny Rev 7.0’s FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 retains a firm grip on the
While the this week goes to emilystrange’s Darkness AFC for a very solid 86 points
Over in the H2H the tallies are….
EIB 154 - 139 IGM. A timely double bubble for EIB with a +15 point edge.
But still holding court & the is emilystrange’s Darkness AFC who is proving quite difficult to oust from the throne at present.
I had better get to patching up the pitch now. After all the weekend’s rain it has cut up a bit. Well, the bits that haven’t washed away have.
So I’m rolling out a big sponge to soak up most of the water before I get out there with a hair dryer to give the grass a bit of body & style.
Thanks again everyone for another super week & now back to my feathered friend for GW10
