Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd have to say, Alien Covenant, seems I like it a lot more than anybody else. It did answer a lot of questions, also left a lot unanswered but there are two more films planned so hopefully the Engineers will meet the monsters, and the aliens - we are the monsters, see, I have it sussed.
Looking forward to watching that again. There's a lot to like but, like Prometheus, there are couple of scenes that are real clunkers (there evac/crane ship fight is awful!).
Dis Pickle Me Free - {Despicable Me 3] .... the Minions are losing their allure, not half as good as the first two, but, Charlie is once again banana obsessed.
Is that how tour kid pronounces it? Because, if so, same here! I liked it, but agree it couldn't touch the first two!

Ridley's at his best when he has a great writer.
I liked this one, too, but one thing really bugged me: David did so much work on the aliens, but what was the advantage of making it harder for them to reproduce? They went from spores to, like, a 3 or 4 step process...

I think that was the nature of the hybridisation. Once the 1st generation has "hatched/ burst out of a host" they were already hybrids that most likely needed to lay the eggs for the 2nd generation. If you follow that logic all the way through to Resurrection & the final hybrid in that, it sort of makes (a bit of) sense

True! I guess that's the nature of this particular beast, when considering the dog in Alien 3 and the mammal hybrids in Resurrection!

Last night we watched a Japanese "horror" film from 1965 called Kwaidan. The cinematography was amazing good for 1965. Wasn't really "scary" but it was interesting.
