I'm feeling run down. Haven't been able to sleep due to the persistent cough. Paracetamol keeps the fever away.
Sounds like you caught what I have. My next door neighbour has it too. He spent the weekend in bed. I even took a covid test just in case (it was negative). What with people expected to pile round for drinks & nibbles over the next few days, I thought it wise to make sure I wasn't infecting a bunch of people with the 'rona. Plenty of rest, lots of hot soup & whisky. That'll sort you out
Lousy. My blood pressure has been spiking. I want a new me. Blah
I have a bad white coat syndrome and my BP is through the roof when measured in a health care centre. The nurses always try to calm me down but it doesn't help. At home when I come from jogging my bp is normal for many hours after excercise. Also by listening to certain kind of music has a calming effect on BP and on heart racing. I definitely need to monitor my BP and maybe start taking meds soon, although the values are normal-ish on ideal occasions.
Please see a doctor. I used to run 50+ miles a week, ran 2 marathons a year, ate a healthy(ish) diet but 2 years ago I woke up & my heart was pounding. My partner insisted I phoned the doctor & they called me in straight away. My blood pressure was off the chart & heartbeat very erratic. Went for ECG & now condition is controlled by meds. Don't wish to alarm you but please don't ignore the symptoms

Thanks for your wise words. Yes I'll see a doctor asap once this flu is over.
One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain So hit me with music, hit me with music

Ix-nay on the isky-way, tho. That’ll suppress your immune system.
D, I'm so sorry your dad had to go through that, too. Good on you for helping him to the best of your ability. They probably ran into the linen closet when they saw you coming, effers. I fully recognize dr.'s don't have all the answers, but...
I'm learning to advocate for myself w/ help from a friend of > 30 years who has multiple chronic illnesses (she's said dr.'s have often blamed every health problem she's had on her being fat). I wrote d!ckhead dr. back and asked him to change the visit notes to reflect the info I ACTUALLY communicated to him. I also left him a scathing review, which got the attention of the institution he's affiliated with. I don't go down easily (well, you know what I mean ) Hell hath no fury...
It is so hard, and sad, that we have to fight with the folks that are supposed to help us. Glad that you are doing what you need to, don't feel guilty about it. Keep fighting the good fight!
I did a covid test and it's positive. The weird fatigue, fever and cough were covid then after all. I've taken zopiclone at night in addition to paracetamol to be able to sleep. Slightly more energetic this morning and hopeful the 'vid is on the amend now.

Yikes. I took a test earlier this week & it was negative thankfully. Hope you see that bugger off swiftly

I'm wearing a mask when out in public all of the time again. I never stopped completely. There's a nasty new variant out there & this is peak transmission season.
I can say I've now beaten Covid for good. I hope that assassiant sneaky intruder never comes to my doorstep again. While still recovering I've measured my bloodpressure over a few days. With relief I can say that the readings are not alarming. They are too high but not demanding immediate medical intervention. Normal readings are under 140/80 mmHg which is the upper limit that I've just and just achieved before. Now the readings are 150/85 average. So I need medication but can unhurriedly take the measurements for a few weeks before reaching a doc.
