Two weeks ago I painted our bedroom. Turns out one of the chemicals I’m highly allergic to (an anti fungal, anti mold agent) was in the paint. For two weeks I’ve had a terrible allergic reaction on my face and neck. It really hurts, my eye is swollen and I look a mess. Getting water on it feels like acid. Taking OTC allergy medicine and running an air purifier in my room at night, to no avail. Apparently with paint, this can last months until it’s dissipated. Of course this ingredient is not used in Europe because it’s so disruptive and it’s not disclosed here when it’s used.
I want to peel my face off.
Eeek! The paint I'm using in the basement has similar agents in. Luckily I haven't had any reaction. But you wouldn't want to be near my basement at the moment
Ugh, yeah, no thanks.
Supposedly you can wash your walls with another chemical to deactivate methylisothiazolinone, but using one chemical to deactivate another seems like it could go wrong.
It’s also annoying it was mid-tier price not cheap, and had tons of dried flakes in it which I had to keep picking out. Never had either of those problems with cheap paint. Figures.

feeling quite exhausted actually. yesterday went for a long walk 10.6kms as it has been awhile since my last walk. the temperature suggested it is autumn but nature is still not looking it...can't wait for the pretty autumn colours that appear. whilst on the walk decided to make split pea stew like my Nanna used to make. it turned out to be delicious the only down side when stirring the stew and it starts to spit at you is the blister it caused on my right hand. my left wrist has red marks where it hit me. but it is worth it so yummy and this means we will be having stew again tonight as there is so much left over!

It sounds like a great fall day, minus the burns.
I was walking with a friend yesterday and we also noticed the colors are late and the trees still have most of their leaves, which is odd this time of year.
Bit miffed. Went to the post office to pick up a parcel on Saturday & the woman there went to 3 different storage places (even returning to the first one a second time) & still couldn't find it. Their storage system isn't rubbish. It's non-existent. So she took my number & told me they'd call today. Guess what? No call. It's only a vacuum cleaner bag for the Kärcher, but that's not the point. Morons. The lot of them

You should bring your vacuum to the post office, plug it in, and run it next to her window until she finds it.
It's some consolation to me to know it's the same everywhere. Hope you get your bags!
I know it's not a place for politics but it's too hard for me to refrain from saying that I'm feeling carefully happy about the result of yesterday's parliamentary elections in Poland. If the bad people don't something unexpected and dishonest, Poland is coming back to Europe after 8 year long journey to the middle of nowhere. I must also say that it was a wonderful feast of democracy. Due to the highest attendance (after 1989) many voting points in big cities run out of ballot papers long before the 9 p.m., time of closing the voting. But everyone who stood in line before that time could vote. So they were waiting for additional ballots. Me too, I gave my vote at 11 p.m. Two blocks away from my place the last person voted at 3 a.m. And it was cold as hell. Those who voted earlier were bringing hot tea, some food, power banks, chargers, blankets... It was truly wonderful experience.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

I like walking, it used to be a chore - something to get my knees working, but now it's a pleasure, especially when there's nobody else around. I have never tried making a split pea stew whilst walking though!!

I feel so relieved I could cry. My sister found a non-profit organization to help obtain our father’s military discharge papers from the National Archives so he can get home care benefits. For a very small fee they help you apply and navigate a nightmarish process.
She asked me to help by spearheading the process and they make it so easy. It’s a huge relief.

Enjoy your stew night #2!
Thank you stew night #2 was again delicious...added more potatoes and some marmite and still have 2 helpings over so that went into the freezer. crazy enough our autumn weather got slightly cold with biting winds so i guess we are definitely in autumn now where we can have 15 degree changes from one day to the next.

walking is definitely a sport i love to do...not only for the peace of mind or clearing of the cobwebs in the head the total use of all senses is just awesome and relaxing...also to get away from people although in this tiny country you always pass someone. hahaha sorry i wasn't making the split pea stew whilst walking...those were my thoughts thinking for later...my witching skills aren't that advanced yet

i have been catching up on your personal life and how difficult it has been on you but this seems like that fresh breath of air you need so am really happy that you are relieved!

Thanks so much, madamebutterfly. My life is very good and easy, though, I think everything that’s happening at the moment is normal for this stage of life. I have a lot for which to be grateful.
