It was the back of my hand & my fingers. I worry about my left hand ever since it went totally dead from the wrist down years ago. I couldn't hold a fork, squeeze toothpaste tubes, or do anything that needed my left hand. It was like that for 3 or 4 months during which time I had twice daily shock treatment to stimulate the nerve leaving me with burns on my arm. I had a ball to squeeze, which was pretty much hopeless as every time I tried to squeeze anything, my whole hand would snap forward involuntarily toward my wrist. The day it started coming back to life I cried as I was so happy. So now when it starts being weird, I panic a bit
So glad everything is ok, Steve. Muy mum is now passing what you went through with her hand and arm. She stumbled on the street and fell in a very bad way three months ago and lost all sensiblity of her hand. She is recovering little by little, but it looks like she is never gonna get it back fully. She is 81. Today is her birthday, by the way.
Wow, a fall like that is no joke at such an age. I'm glad it wasn't worse, in terms of a bone break, especially.
And a happy birthday to your Mom, gongoro73! I hope you all were able to celebrate in style. Who knows, maybe she drank you under the table...

Yes, she is really a tough woman, fortunately no broken bones, although quite a lot of internal damage. Thank you very much, @notkristie.
Celebration will be tomorrow with all the family. Saturdays are easier to gather.
A little bummed. I just spoke with my neurologist and I will have to cease taking the only migraine medication that has truly worked for me. It took my headaches from 8-10 per month down to one a month. I became allergic to it and will now have to spend a month not taking anything to get it out of my system before we try something else (and no more injectables for me at all, except she may want me to try Botox).

I hate migraines.
Ugh from one migraine sufferer to another, I feel your pain. That’s shiatty news! One positive thing though, one of my coworkers suffers from migraines too, and the Botox injections have done wonderful things for her. Here’s hoping for a positive outcome for you.

I really appreciate that, Danielle. Thanks. Another positive thing is that I now feel totally confident giving myself a shot, which I never thought would happen. But I’ve always loved giving blood. 🧛♂️
I’m glad to hear Botox helps your friend. I’ve known one person whom it’s helped. I’m not sure how I feel about using it, from a “putting weird stuff in your face/head/neck” standpoint, but when you have migraines there’s lots of stuff you may not feel good about you will try, as you know.

That sucks. My best friend became allergic to practically all painkillers. It started a few years back when he took what he'd normally take to mask an ache from playing football (he's a goalkeeper) & had to be rushed to hospital as it nearly killed him. Strange that you can suddenly develop an allergy like that.

What?! That's terrible. It's not like I take painkillers often but without the option I'm not sure what I'd do.
Local MP stabbed and killed at lunch time today. Lots to process and I guess a media circus to avoid for next few weeks...
Just reading about this in the NYT. I'm so sorry. That's evil.
Awful thing to happen to anyone, the political aspect means there will be no nuance or empathy in the fallout - just more division.. The overseas reporting will be far more balanced than the domestic which will be mostly frothing at the mouth.
