Annoyed, today was the third time in a row that the digital lecture crashed... It worked perfectly last semester, but after they gave the LMS a face-lift it keeps crashing

That sucks. I’m so sorry. I was talking with our babysitter the other day about what it’s like to be a student right now. Her school raised tuition, her friends are getting harassing calls from college debt collectors while they’re unemployed, and her school also made it impossible to drop classes *after* they announced all instruction would be online after having hemmed and hawed about perhaps having in person classes. Not, not, not an easy time to be in any form of higher ed.

That sounds awful! Makes me very thankful to be a student in Norway where there is basically no tuition (I pay about 70 USD per term), student loans are handled by the state and you don't pay anything back until you have finished your education. Additionally, there is a set number of months you can delay student loan payments which was increased due to covid making unemployment more likely.
I’m slightly anxious today as I’m debating whether or not I should renew my apartment lease.
Ooooh, that's a huge decision. If you do renew it, what will you do when you take off traveling, assuming that happens in the next year? Will they give you a month-to-month arrangement if you are on the fence?

Unfortunately, my building only offers year-long leases! Additionally, I’m not overly fond of my building or unit; it’s definitely overpriced for what it is. Basically, I pay for the location (‘hip’ urban environment, close to the office), but since I’ve been working from home it’s no longer worth the cost. If I do renew the lease and leave for a few months, I suppose I’ll just continue on paying rent. It’s a dilly of a pickle it is. What to do, what to do ?
