Ok, I know what you are thinking but read me out... I've been listening to First Wave on Sirus Radio all weekend and Billy is the host this weekend. He has been reading excerpts from his autobiography Dancing with Myself and it sounds great!!! I'm going to get it. He seems to have a lot in there about the music scene in both England and the USA (new York City in particular) in the 80s And His description of New York was spot on! It really seems to be very intelligently written.
Generation X kicked The Cure off their tour when they were all on Hansa records.
Hansa told Robert Smith that The Cure had to sound like their other acts.
I read that it was because they were getting a better reaction than Gen X. Of course, Lol peeing all over Billy Idol the night before probably didn't help. They were already working with Polydor by the time they got on the Gen X tour
