Went to work today to be told of a 5 year old cat needed a home fast as his owner had gone into a residential care home . House keys had to be in tomorrow and her granddaughter and next door had been feeding him and ringing round but no joy everywhere was full The elderly lady was very distressed. My long term ex partners cat died a few weeks ago so I said hold on. He wasn't over the moon but I said look he has run out of time. So I said well il have him then Anyway he said well actually I didn't throw out food and bits and ok if you can drive and get him we can take it from there.
I arrived to a lady in tears who had come up from Plymouth who was the ladies sister she said I can't take him back but my sister is so upset and all she's doing is getting distressed about what will happen to him . They brought him to me and he was a very big ginger and white cat " tiggy" I let him sniff me and I tickled him and he started purring and headbutting me . Got him in the car he was very worried but got him home and then after a cat shopping trip took him down to the next road to my ex. He strolled out and started rubbing up against me then everyone then the furniture . Found a bowl of food and woofed it down like a dog !! I was told he'd pined and lost weight. He must have been really overweight as if that was skinny !! He then jumped on the sofa purring and looked like he'd always lived there!!
I've never met such a calm cat!!! He's so laid back. He loves being with people and bonded with my son. This is an hour after he arrived at my ex partners !!! My son and him like each other. He's a big cat with huge paws. But is so gentle . So he has a forever home now
I get to see him as well. My son is at his Dads at the weekend and I left him and Tiggy there like this !! I think a friendship has been made . I hope they all have many happy years to come
We've got a big fish tank at work, in the cafeteria of all places. There's a sign above it saying "Do not feed the fish!" andsomeone has now put up another sign next to it saying "Do not eat them either, BUY your sushi yourself!" I love it.
