Being a regular listener of Lauren Laverne's morning show on BBC6 Music, I've been quite taken by Tuesday's Biorhythm section. Listeners submit 3 songs as follows One that influences physical one that influences emotional & one that influences intellectual activity in the listener. I thought it might be a nice touch to have a The Cure Biorhythm thread. Choose 3 The Cure songs (one for each of the activities) & briefly describe why that song fits that activity for you. I'll start
Physical: Doing The Unstuck. Aside from making me want to get up & leap around, this song involves getting out there & doing all these wild & wacky things & basically chucking out all the old rubbish in your life.
Emotional: Homesick. It all seems so final with this song, although hopeful at the same time. There is a notion that this is a swansong before jacking it all in, yet not really wanting that at all
Intellectual: Club America Yep. Shocker huh? Despite many reservations, this is (lyrically) a frighteningly accurate snipe at the celeb culture that has consumed most of the world today. A world where Kim Kardashian's butt is more likely to get on the front page than a plane crash.
Given that moods change so frequently, I suspect my choices may also change from time to time, but currently, this is what I would pick.
