A weird request here, but worth a punt I think.
I have a load of VHS tapes with various UK TV The Cure live performances, documentaries, rehearsal clips & interviews.
When I was younger I would always have a tape in the machine ready for anyone interesting appearing on The Tube, Whistle Test & various other music shows.
As a result, I have tapes featuring The Cure The Banshees, Cocteaus, The Fall, The Mission, The Cult, JAMC, Cherry Bombz, Half Man Half Biscuit, New Order & a lot more.
There is also one of The Lords Of The New Church live from The Marquee London from a show called Cue The Music.
It's all pro-shot stuff & all recorded at the time of the original broadcasts. So there is no added generation to them.
I scrawled the track lists down for each tape & here you can grab pictures of those hand written tracklists.
There are a load of music videos among the rest of the stuff & a few TOTP performances too.
vhs lists.torrent (14.61 KB)
It's only a small folder with jpgs in & apologies for the scrawl. I was prolly in an altered state of mind when I wrote some of them.
I don't have the gear with which to transfer & author DVDs from these tapes & thought I'd put it out the to the community to ask if anyone is interested in taking on the task?
Moreover, would anyone be able to unscramble the mish mash of clips to group performances by same bands & maybe a compilation of the rest?
Ideally, I would like the transfers to have uncompressed audio, but if this is a problem then let's see if there is a solution.
Lastly, on one tape there are 2 performances of a local band from the time called Torture Garden.
I would dearly love to have those transferred to one dvd, as the Zap Club one was on my birthday that year (I think I'm in the video too).
So, that's the challenge should you accept it. If you have any questions about the tracklists (I think I cut some of the words in places) just ask here & I'll try to answer them.
Ta much in advance.
