Finished Lynch's bio a couple of weeks ago, wich left me wanting for much more.
Now I'm into this:
Hey, that's my reading list from last summer! That Lynch book is such a good concept, takes a while to get going but I loved it. All the early days Beasties stuff is fascinating, a proper NYC time capsule but with regular Madonna cameos.
Aside from Burroughs Naked Lunch, this is probably the most difficult book I've ever had to get through. I let the book expire and then had to wait again until it was available. I am now moving towards finishing it.
If you ever wanted to know exactly what it's like to be a hunted boy who is then hopped up on coke and gunpowder to nonchalantly kill people in the most brutal way, here you have it. I just got to the part where the author has been taken in by UNICEF. Please let something positive come out of this. This read has been a killer.
I was underwhelmed by this one. Will be curious what your take is on it.
I'm still half the book. Although I've been a fan of them since I was in my twenties, I've never learned too much about them, except the most common facts of their history. So, for me is a new source of information since I didn't knew almost anything about their history. I'm enjoying it so far despite the fact that I find them a very cold people, quite different from what we are used to here in Spain. Listening to Hooky in the documentary talking about the death of Ian, and their reaction to it, it's completely alien to me. No offense, please.
