Honestly, this festival is going to be bloody brilliant!!
There's a few more bands to be announced that will knock your little socks off, so trust me, this festival is gonna be fookin' AWESOME!!
The folks who are behind it are SO strongly commited to making this festival the best you've ever been to, so if you are sitting on the fence on whether to buy a ticket just yet, all I can say is DO IT!!! NOW. GO!!!
I am chuffed to bits to be working with these lovely people, so yes, I am biased - but I am also into all the same stuff as everyone here, and therefore, can't encourage you all enough to go buy a ticket: you're in for the best three days of your life: music, art, circus, clubs, kid-friendly, great grub, decent potties, gorgeous countryside... What's not to like?
So, here's the latest trailer that we made for Alt-Fest:
...and here's one we made a while ago, featuring not only Prof. Elemental, but our very own OhFuchia:
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
i am very skeptikal about this festival . to me it seems far too ambitious and how can a festival of this size be funded by the fans and survive , also , i heard a rumour that must of the bands listed have not confirmed their attendance (can b13 confirm this for me please). i also think that it will be the nail in the coffin to the small festivals around the country . i'm sorry but on paper it looks like an excellent idea , in reality it seems like a fantasy .
I can tell you now that EVERY band that you can see on the line-up is signed up, sealed, written in stone, confirmed and ready to go. Some have announced their attendance on their own websites, some not just yet - but either way, the contracts are signed, the bands are playing.
Also bear in mind that I know a fair few of the bands personally, they have definitely confirmed!!
Money-wise, the organisers and supporters sunk a lot of their own money into the festival, the KickStarter money was used to cover the deposits for booking fees, ticket sales and careful, non-corporate sponsorship is handling the rest - or at least, this is the way I understand it!
Re: smaller festivals, Download doesn't stop metal fans going to Bloodstock, Alt-Fest won't stop folks going to Whitby, for example.
When Sonisphere died here in the UK, we lost the closest thing we had to a GOOD mixed festival - it didn't kill off smaller festivals when it was running, nor will Alt-Fest.
The organisers are fans too, remember: they wouldn't want to see small festivals disappear any more than you or I would.
Oh, and rumours are just that: rumours. The internet is full of killjoys with a big imagination and even bigger mouths - if you want the facts, ask the organisers: the Alt-Fest Facebook page is run by them and they will answer any concerns. Honestly.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
P.S. ...and if any festival dared to put up on their website names of bands that they had not booked or had not confirmed, just imagine the lawsuits...
P.P.S. One other thing: I've worked professionally in the music, TV and videogames industry all my life. It's my 'Day Job'. I sure as hell wouldn't give up my time and effort to work for people who I thought were in any way clueless, dishonest or numpties. No way. I've got better things to do and believe me, I've seen it all before.
I do Alt-Fest's filming and video editing because they aren't clueless, dishonest or numpties!!!
Hope all this puts your mind at rest! But please do ask if you have any concerns: I'm in no way any kind of official mouthpiece for the festival, but I can put questions or concerns to the organisers, easy peasy.

They asked me (nicely!!) to pass on their details - which I have - but I don't have any dealings with the band-booking side of things, so I couldn't give you a yay or nay on that one...

Oh...well I'll keep my fingers crossed for them. I hope they get on the bill!
