Apart from The Accureacy, I play in another band too, a band that plays original music and not covers (OK, we do a cover or two from time to time!). The name of the band is Background Noise Suppression and as you can guess we are quite influenced by The Cure and british/american alternative/indie music - but not only The Cure: we are also influenced by 80s australian alternative music such as The Church, Died Pretty etc.
Anyhow... We have been in the studio since last year recording our debut album (although we are almost a 7-year-old band, we had some mishaps that prevented us do it earlier) and I was assigned to mixing the whole thing. A process that started on February and lasted until June (I am very finicky about sound and it had to be done perfect). So, apart from having a dayjob, a household to run and two bands, I also had to work for hours every evening to mix the thing. And then, I had to make the cover artwork... and then had to arrange for the printing... and then, I had to arrange for the mastering... and then I had to arrange for the vinyl pressing and the CD pressing... and then I had to arrange for a website... and then I had to also build it from scratch...
Yep, that was A LOT of work, but I managed. The downside is that I didn't have much time for doing other things, so checking forums and stuff were inevitably the first to go. I think the last time I checked this forum was almost a year ago or so...
Anyway, everything is sorted out now, the album is being pressed as we speak and it will be released in three weeks. We have also arranged for a series of live gigs to promote the album and maybe some videoclips.
For anyone interested, you can take a look at our website at www.backgroundnoisesuppression.com. You can find everything there: a bio, photos, videos, news etc. I will also remind you when the album is finally released for anyone interested purchasing it.
Leave a comment if you find something you like in BNS (or not...)
We haven't uploaded any of the album tracks yet, though, only some older singles and outtakes (and live performances) - but we soon will. And they are brilliant stuff - I will also remind you about it when they are uploaded.
PS: as you may have already seen, we are also preparing some The Accureacy gigs in Thessaloniki, Athens and maybe a couple of other greek cities too. I am very excited!
