I can't believe that my PowerBook is still going! I bought it brand new about ...Ooo... ten years ago?
And despite the DVD drive being deader than a very dead thing and the battery in the same state (Oh, and the PSU caught fire) it still gets used as an email and internet machine at home.
Far from the days when it was used as a mobile video editing suite! I had a ...*gulp* ... 500gb external hard drive! It was HUGE!!! MASSIVE!! Didn't know what to do with all that space!!
Ah! The good ol' days...
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Well, so far I am happy with the speed & the way the power saving works. I haven't tried iBooks yet, but did try maps. Oh dear. First message I got was "would you like maps to use your current location?" Naturally, I clicked "yes".....& got a map of Hungary. Not too bad considering I am currently in North Texas. Then there is the dock. It has turned grey & I really don't like it. Looks like someone stuck Scotch tape up the side of the screen. Hoping they will update to let people change it back to transparent/ black again.
There's a setting in the wallpaper/screensaver part, if you 'right click' on the desktop. My wallpaper is black anyway so my dock didn't seem to change but it's set to transparent.
Maps is the same, sadly, as the native maps app on the iphone, i downloaded the google maps app for that and will likely use google on my MacBook until they sort it out. Apparently when the iPhone 5 came out, tomtom apologised for the maps, but they don't seem to have done a great deal about it...
