Just been watching the stream from Austin at the weekend - obviously an amazing show especially with the rain ! But have also noticed a complete lack of Fender guitars now being used by Robert - even Reeves is now not playing a Fender Bass VI but looking as though he has a Reverend version ... What's going on there then ? Would be interesting to see when the change came ..

That's a pretty good thread. Robert doesn't play Fender guitars since 1987 if we exept the bassVI. He used his bass VI 'till 2004 with the exeption of the Reflection shows when he played three different Jazzmasters and THE bass VI. I never understood why he played three diffrerent Jazzmaster reissues instead of his hown old one which sounds far better. Reeves played his first Cure concerts with Robert's 62' modified bass VI until Reverend made a special model for him. These Fender guitars built the Cure sound as we like it and the band definitely sounds different now. It took me a long time to apreciate the sound of Robert's Gretch and Gibson sound, but they sounded very natural. The actual guitar sound makes me feel very doubtfull as it seems to fit more the actual fashion than an original sound. Maybe that's the reason why they became a more consensual band these days: still very energic but less radical. My biggest hope would be them to learn to play loud again and please Jason, stop playing with metronome, clicks and loops !
Let's come back to your thread, Fenders guitar used through the years (on stage only, it's quite impossible to know all the guitars the band uses in studio)... Jazzmaster: 1979-1990 (August 1985- 1990 only for Shake dog shake) then 2011 for the Reflecton shows... Bass VI: 1981-2004, then Robert on the Reflection shows then Reeves in 2012. Stratocaster: Porl from 1984 to 1992. Telecaster: 1985-1987. I think Perry also used one in 2002 or 2004 on TV shows but can't remember exactly. Fender XII: 1987 and 2000. Precision bass: 1979-1981 then 2011 for the Reflection shows. Also in 1983 and early 1984. Jazz bass: 1989, 2000 and 2008.

This is good info ! I would imagine the Jazzmaster Shake Dog Shake scenario would be to accommodate the open C minor tuning just for that song .. I hadn't realised it had been quite so long without regular Fender (non VI) use though , I did go to Reflections so that would have clouded my assessment of the situation a little ;-)

Wander if they'll use the original instruments on the next trilogy… That would mean: Jazzmaster,Fender Bass VI, Fender XII, Fender Telecaster, Gibson SG, Rickenbecker bass, Musicman Stingray 4...

they did it on the first trilogy. can't see why not doing this time
I'm trapped in my face
and I'm changing too much.
I can't climb out the way I fell in.
The bridge pickup is called "Piezo" pickup. They are (or were) used to get an acoustic-ish sound of electric guitars without having to switch instruments. Well, not exclusively, I think Robert mentions on that video that it sounds great if you mix the pickups. And the knbs are probably volume and tone for each pickup.

Man, I gotta get me one of those
It would be super cool to hear the isolated guitar tracks - I was gonna say "on albums that use these guitars" but realised that having isolated guitar tracks for all songs would be the ideal situation.....
Does anyone have recent pics of robert's pedalboards? I remember seeing lots of Boss pedals in a few live shots...
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
That would be my dream! Isolated tracks, specially from the McGeoch era Siouxsie and the Banshees albums.
I did have a YT screenshot from of the more recent (2012 or so) gigs where you could kind of see RS' pedalboard… but it's no secret. Crybaby-BD2-SD1-DD3-PH(2?)-BF2. And there's a separate board for the VI that should be Chorus(CH1)-DD3-Noise gate(NS2?). Altough on some songs there seem (or seemed, 2004-ish) to be some sort of overdrive on the VI.
