Oh dear... I'm in the 'Highly Skeptic' group too. (Sorry!!)
I'll go put the kettle on, shall I?
I am 'sitting on the fence' when it comes to Mediums: while yes, it can give great comfort to people in the instance of a bereavement, it - to me - is a false comfort. BUT ... if it gives comfort, that's a good thing, surely? If it helps someone cope, I can't take that away from someone by saying, "Oh, it's a fabrication." - that would be brutally cruel.
In my case, I wouldn't go to a Medium to see how my Mum is because I'm applying the Conservation of Energy principle, where everything she once was, all the energy that went into making her, is still here - you can read more about here: The Physicist's Eulogy
Everything that your loved ones once were, is till here. When they died, they didn't leave, they just became ... less organised.
But do please share what the Medium told you (if you want to, that is!) and why you believe what he/she said to be true, while I may not believe in such things, you do: and that's important to YOU!!
P.S. My non-belief in ghosts however, got a bit of a bashing when a woman in a white dress ran right through the house engineer at the recording studio where I used to work, when he was walking up the staircase...
He's not one to make things up and when he told me (an hour or so after it happened) I have NEVER seen a person so ...well... spooked!! He was WHITE ... and shaking like a leaf.

(To insert a Cure-related factoid, Red Bus Recording studios was where The Boys recorded some bits and bobs around about the time of Faith. So I've used the same bogs as Rob, Si and Lol. Go me!!)
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
i lost a close friend some years back, and often think about him.I like yourselfes was curious,so i went and gave nothing away,i said very little and let her speak.she got everything correct, things that could not be just guessed and things i had forgot.because of this yes i did believe her but thats just my experience.
I don't disbelieve; I need evidence to make me disbelieve, even if I don't really believe in something. I've never been to see a medium, I'm too scared. I believe in ghosts, spirits or however they're labelled, so why not those who can see them more than others? I've had a couple of 'spooky' moments, before I knew something was there. We've got a spooky hollow about half a mile from us, on the road to the next village (where the pubs are!) and when walking home at night, something didn't feel quite right at that corner, and I'd want to get past it very quickly. I later discovered that years ago when they were widening the road, they uncovered a human skeleton, a man who they believe had been murdered. He was reinterred so he's still there.
