ive come across a gold discography that was awarded to Simon Gallup for selling over 100000 copies of the fiction album 'standing on the beach' in 1986.
I have pics that I can email to anyone who can help with uploading as I'm useless on computers.
i found this last year in my then new purchased house in the loft tucked away.
I don't anything about this band other than them being well known for years.
They might be able to give you some more information. Also have a look on evilbay for other similar items to gauge a value if you are thinking of flogging it.
Alex given that you posted this on CCC (were you called something else then?) your claim to not know much about a thread that went on for several pages is gobsmackingly thinly worn.

What are you on about, those several pages were mainly about upset members asking where I've got it from and and that i should return it to Simon Gallup? And also saying stuff like it must be stolen..Absolute madness..
I enquired about this last June yes, and went to look back on that website today to try and gather some information that was given to me as I had forgotten all about it but the website has closed apparently .
it was sold but the fella didn't come to pick it up in the end.

Hey Steve ,
thanks for the info, I remember someone else saying to try and get hold of someone at Fiction from the other site now that you've mentioned it.
i'll take a look at polydor.
not really fussed about selling it..if it goes then so be it.
I was ripping you off so would have been a good move for me!
You wouldn't have been ripping me off...these type of things have no price tag..It all depends on how much that person wants it and how much it means to them.
