For those of you State-side fortunate enough to have clear enough skies please be careful when observing today's eclipse
Last one I witnessed I made a pinhole projector & went out with a group of friends onto the South Downs. I had a beer cooler (natch) & used the projector to project the image onto the side of the cooler & it was awesome. & that moment it reaches totality is super weird, as it gets cold suddenly & all the birds go silent. Above all enjoy it & don't wreck your eyes.

Thanks Steve. We will be in partial eclipse territory. It's supposed to begin around 1:21 PM my time. IF the weather holds out (it's a bit cloudy at the mo) I will be outside at lunch at that time (later lunch for us always) and I will try to do a selfie with my back to it. Seems the safest easiest way to do it. I MIGHT try to periscope see what happens.
Fingers crossed you get to see it. Another good way to view is to use a colander. Although it's quite trippy. & if you buy a Volvo XC60 today, they'll give you an eclipse filter for the moon roof for free
Got a couple eclipse glasses and a couple homemade camera obscuras ready for the viewing. But I am considering bringing out the colander too steve If you get that selfie Pipperoo, please share!
I've got nothing but a cloudy day and a long day at work. But I'm in a good mood and have figured out how to mention the eclipse in my monologue for my audition tonight....

Plan a coffee run sometime around 1:20 though, and just take a peek. You can even use a ritz cracker to view the eclipse. The holes create shadows the eclipse onto the floor Or just soak in the cool atmosphere for a moment. It's worth it!
Oh it's deffo worth it. It's not a very common event to witness & when it goes to totality it's a really weird feeling. I'd hazard a guess that many offices & shop floors will prolly pause for the duration.
We had an eclipse a long, long time ago... I remember I was in school at the time and we had to look through a pin hole paper thing. Later in the day I was on a swingset at a park while my brother was playing baseball and I kept looking at the sun and all of it's glory.
1pm sounds like a great time to go get coffee... now sounds like a great time too. so does noon... omg coffee!!!!!!!

Now they are saying it's passing us at 2:41 I wish they'd make up their minds haha but I'll see
