The City of Manchester Stadium was built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games at a cost of £112m. Sport England paid £77m towards it & Manchester Council £35m. When City decided to move in they only paid £20m of the total cost of £42m to convert it into a football stadium. Once again Manchester Council paid the balance.
So City only paid £20 for a spanking new stadium plus whatever revenue they received from selling Maine Road & the surrounding land! Utd will argue to the Council that if its good enough for City....
West Ham only paid £15m to convert the Olympic Stadium & pay a peppercorn rent of £2.5m per year!!!
This football sin bin idea is ridiculous, you can predict what will happen. A referee will make an incorrect decision, players will complain and at least one will be sin binned. It's just giving officials more power, okay they shouldn't be abused by players, but on the other hand, they need to be more competent - and I know refs deny it, but it's clear they have players they don't like, managers also. Arteta will be spending half an hour per game sin binned whilst Pochettino will be given an arm chair on the centre circle. It works in rugby because the players have respect for the officials, that respect, if it was ever there, does not exist in football.

I pulled in to Lymm Services on Saturday on the M6 at 12.30ish. There were Scarborough Athletic & Matlock Town players filing out from Greggs eating beige food.
Scarborough lost 3 nil at Chester & Matlock lost 1 nil at Rylands. Read into this what you will but I reckon they should have gone for the M&S meal deal
American version news: the Super Bowl actually lived up to the hype this year & was a great game. I didn't have any betting interest, just kicked back & enjoyed it. Patrick Mahomes is the man.
