Bemused by a crowd of 35,000 for a team ordered to play behind closed doors ..... England were woeful though, Bowen looked out of his depth, and the left back - forgotten his name!! Curiously the left back with the memorable name was apparently the only left back in the squad as Saka came on as left back at half time .... most peculiar. Booed by 30,000 kids, that's dreadful.
If I remember rightly, when they announced the squad there was something like five right backs and one left back.
Jeebuz farking christ! This is the worst I have seen England play in years.
You mean since Wednesday?
Honestly this is terrible. Ramsdale has been the only player on the pitch worthy of the shirt. Every single one of the outfield players have been dreadful.

Maguire should not play for England again, dreadful all season, dreadful for England also.
This Mickey Mouse tournament is the perfect opportunity to use a centre back who can kick & head ball. Instead he choose Maguire. Let's alow kids into Molyneux because they are less likely to boo or show their displeasure.

Wenger revolutionised football with his training regimes, discipline & diets. Fergie manipulated time management using telekinesis to add an extra 5 minutes on refs watches. Klopp has mastered the art of psychology in the beautiful game. Meanwhile Rooney says "Ermmm" a lot. Southgate reminds me of my old PE teacher who also doubled up as a Geography teacher, Rhodri "Taffy" Davies (he was Scottish). He hardly ever left the confines & comforts of the staffroom, occasionally opening the window & shouting "Great pass Tommy" while dunking his Jammy Dodger in his tea (we didn't actually have a Tommy in our class!) The only time we saw Taffy on the pitch was when Miss Hubbard (history teacher) took the girl's hockey practice. One year while writing my annual report, Taffy (who didn't know me from Adam or Tommy) was desperate trying to find a positive about my cricketing prowess wrote "he always remembers to bring his kit"
Southgate sticking Saka at left back again, sheer lunacy. Why didn't any of the commentators pick up on HArry Kane hurling himself to the ground clutching his foot in "pain" in an attempt to win a penalty?? Nobody touched him, not even the slightest touch that usually sends him flying, no contact at all, and nobody said a word.

Kane shouldn't be near the starting xi, I dislike every aspect of his game. I don't get the commentators moaning that Eng can't play at the pace they want, they've barely got a creative idea between them when they do have the ball.
While England have been pretty awful the last few games, I was pretty impressed at just how well Hungary have played. Even with the natives there aren't any great expectations from the team. But I thought they looked really good both last night & against Germany. Speaking with people who didn't see the game last night, they don't believe me when I tell them the result.

Why is Maguire still in the squad?? He couldn't even get in the worst Manchester United team in living memory!! Boo'd again when he came on, and fans aiming chants at Southgate, I know it's just the Nations League but the World Cup is just four months away, these games should have been used to "fine tune" the team, unless it's all some plan to make the rest of the world think we're dreadful ......

They're only turning out cos they don't want to take the risk of being chopped from the squad before the WC, none of them really want to be there. It's this, shorter break then ridiculous corporate pre-season international Club stuff.
Maybe some positives will come of getting a good tonking, better now than in Nov.
