i think i'm talking about the whole ethos of punk as something that was supposed to be very antiestablishment but was basically a front for macclaren and westwood to sell their product . don't get me wrong punk started a new wave of music that went against the stagnant music that was around at the time and without it we would not have had the cure , siouxsie , the damned etc. but the sex pistols are the most overrated bunch of tosh that have appeared on any music format . everyone can be bolshy and swear , and i know that they did it on tv but come on they were as controversial as a tory pledging to help the poor . some punk tracks i don't mind but i just don't like the sex pistols and what they stood for .
