Album by album The Cure show us, that they don´t want to stay on the same place. For Robert a comp. don´t exist something like successful model. This is one of many thing what we like. Fans AC/DC can look forward to new album in the same style as other before. We can look forward to new album will be surprise. “Hic sunt leones” this is the country for each new album The Cure. And don´t exist better illustration fo thies fact, than album from 2004. It is totally different than Bloodflowers. More songs from this album in concert setlist will be good, and “End of the world” isn´t best song from this album. What about Us of Them, Going Nowhere, Labyrinth, This Morning.....(this is last song on 2LP version)..... BTW: I transfer 2LP to one CD and if I listen it, sometimes I feel it like story or soundtrack for one day film.....Is it only my feeling?
I have to be honest & say The End Of The World is getting a bit tiresome due to it being an almost permanent fixture in their set list. There are rich pickings al over that album & with Reeves in the fold now, I think they could do just about any track they want off it.
With Perry, they could play any track they want off the whole Cure catalogue !!!
Anyway, to me, this album and the following tour is like the end of an era for the band, a bit like Pornography in 82'. Change of line-up, back to pop, come back of Porl... Robert considers Pornography/Disintegration/Bloodflowers as a trilogy, but to me, the mood of the last two is closer to Faith, and The Cure closer to pornography. I also think this album is the best an almost 30 years old band could release...
I like this album. For me only "Never" and "(I Do not Know Whats Going) On" weaknesses. But for all the B sides real hit. Also, "A Boy I Never Knew" and "Please Come Home" from that era would have been undoubtedly the potential for publication.
would be Nice to hear much of the material from this album live again, snd together With much of the songs from the kiss me album, like all i want, snakepit and like cockatoos etc

Same for me, I thought Faith/Disintegration/Bloodflowers was the perfect trilogy.

True ! I prefer the bleak and atmospheric sound of Faith more in the same vein as Disintegration and parts of Bloodflowers (especially the the album title track)
Sometimes I suspect people to hate this album because of Simon's comments about the recording... I also think it sounds like nu-metal as it sounds like reggae !
Which Simon's comments are you talking about?

what about this interview with Simon for Dallas Music Guide? Simon about Ross: During this tour, I’ve talked to certain people who know bands that have worked with Ross. It pretty much seems that every band he works with, there have been members that haven’t gotten on with him. Some members do, some members don’t. I think I’m a bit more volatile than the other members of The Cure. Ross would like to open debates and discussions; I’d just like to kick him severely in the teeth.
