today was sad day for some our members. we all want to cheer them... ...but me... ...oh meeee... ....when i had those days i usually mix from my collection of CDs a play list i called the Deathmix (stolen the name from a Christian Death ep) and it it was(not in this special order...maybe i still have that old tape somewhere) :
Decades - JOY DIVISION New Dawn Fades - JOY DIVISION Truth - NEW ORDER Sleepwalk (live version) - CHRISTIAN DEATH Desperate Hell - CHRISTIAN DEATH Where Are You Now - THE DANSE SOCIETY Shattered Room - THE SEX GANG CHILDREN Oh Funny Man - THE SEX GANG CHILDREN Love Under Will (live version)- THE FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM Psychonaut - THE FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM Dream On - THE MISSION Wake (live version) - THE MISSION Nine While Nine - THE SISTERS OF MERCY Some Kind of Stranger - THE SISTERS OF MERCY Emma - THE SISTERS OF MERCY Severance - DEAD CAN DANCE Song To The Siren - THIS MORTAL COIL
...and it ended with: Not me - THIS MORTAL COIL
...and this song cheered me upand i was ready to start anew fight;)
Soper makes you want to hang yourself but I love her music!! (Where is Angel?? )
And Kate Bush's voice makes me cry so I don't listen to her. She could be singing come on get happy and I would cry. Joy Division stuff... Some of Peter Gabriel's Music. San Jacinto turns me into a blubbering idiot.
Especially This version
And songs in my history connected with certain events that were sad, make me sad.
Recent, and pretty depressing, stuff from Amanda F-ing Palmer... (and I wonder if the F word is allowed here when it's a signature of herself...)
By the way, at the other side of her musical spectrum there's a pretty happy song, called "Want It Back' which is the closest I've seen her influenced by The Cure being cheerful.)
I had the best laid plans this side of America...
...and now I dig it in the dirt and I’m down here for a while.

This is fantastic, M.! I would put pretty the same list and also rounded with This Mortal Coil. TMC was one of the biggest projects ever! And how about Wasteland or Beyond the Pale from The Mission too?
An impression of sound Then everything is gone Forever

TBH after the first two gems i lost the interest i had in the Mission. Children was lower in athmospheres and in originality in comparison and so the recents albums. there are good songs on them, i admit, but i have never really fallen in love with althought i still listen to them. Wasteland, in truth, never gave me the same feelings as Wake or Dream On. I would name some different song like Severina or Like a Hurricane, i love them to die, but in those moments they weren't right for my mood
I forgot to mention: Black Angel - THE CULT Lights - THE SISTERS OF MERCY

Peter Gabriel "San Jacinto" i think is the best song he did also "Red Rain" and "In your eyes" and his album "Birdy" this movie was very good
I know this isn't really a sad song, but I always feel sad when I hear it. Maybe cos it's about lost friends and good memories.
I think a sad song, does not mean a sad melody, we all have differents ideas and personalities and feelings of sadness, so don't worry , btw i like this song
Terrible song, but made wonderful here by these guys :
.
