^^ Something I realised is that I have all my TC cds digitised. You might not. The freedom I have to do what I did is dependent on having a robust database and software that facilitates on-the-fly adjustment. Ofc It is implied that changes are not made on a whim. Resequencing takes time and many plays through. I continually second guess myself until the very last track is locked in.

The whole point of the Kiss-Me-Album is this larger than life/over the top/all at once approach with this heavy mood changing tracklist (love the transition from "The Snakepit" to "Just like Heaven" on the original album). It is so much exaggerated that it works like a multi-coloured kaleidoscope that make the songs come together very nicely as a whole album. I think it works in its bold approach better than other Cure-Albums that feature different moods and music-styles on the same record. I do not see the point to make separate tracklists for the lighter and the darker songs and do not feel the need to make it more digestible. The album would loose what is the integral element of the whole record.
^^ Again, no disrespect intended - how do you approach Join The Dots?

As per your post, only 4 of these songs were initially sequenced after another song from the same sessions, if you refer to their original media. So your point is perhaps only applicable to a selection of 'albums'?
I do get your point, but it's not persuasive. It seems rigid and uninclusive to me.
