Howdy! Glad to find a forum dedicated to the greatest band there is. Thank you for having me. I've loved The Cure since I first heard a friend's sister playing them when I was 12. The Top is my personal favorite. I look forward to getting to know you lot and chatting. I have a somewhat decent collection and keep adding to it. I'm a dad, an avid reader, a hockey and football fan (Gillingham FC) and enjoy hiking.

Hi I'm kevin new cure fan I'm 33 from the Scotland you could say I was into more mainstream rock bands growing up some of them made me narrow minded so I missed out on listening to bands like the cure in my youth but when i got Into My mid 20s i thought I'm being 100 percent open minded with my music and giving all artists and there music a chance because there must be a reason all of these people bought there records.
So anyway I decided to sign up as I have became pretty fond of the cure that much I have added a few of there records to my vinyl collection
So nice to meet you all I'm still working through the albums as a whole but I know all there hits full albums I have heard so far are is
Faith Pornography Disintegration Bloodflowers
I've listened to all of these albums several times so I can safely say If I like them or not love them all part from im honestly struggling with pornograghy but I just can't take to it.
I remember the first time I heard Pornography. I'd borrowed the LP from someone who had brought it to me at school in a plastic bag. I had a teacher pass me a D90 later so she could get a copy from me as she'd sussed out the contents of the bag somehow.
It was my go-to album for many years. The Hanging Garden was known to me but One Hundred Years, a Strange Day and Siamese Twins were just so amazing on the first listen. I still think the cover art and inner sleeve are ace too.
This was before Kiss Me was issued, so your visiting such an album after hearing so may subsequent efforts is inopportune IMO. Many ppl prefer the polished pop sound on their later albums but for me, in 1987, I was amazed that 3 men could make such a noise and then do something like Japanese Whispers.
I hope you find an album that you can get into as much and still love as much 30 years or more later.
It would be so perfect If you would just fall out the window

Welcome.
Get Seventeen Seconds. More accessible than Pornography.
Also, if you come from a mainstream rock background, 3 Imaginary Boys/Boys Don't Cry, The Head On The Door, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me and Wish may be closer to your familiar territory (but still great albums of The Cure).

Hello and welcome headonthefloor711 and kevin1990, obviously you both need to learn the lyrics to every song on Wild Mood Swings before anything else else .....

I love the unpolished stuff albums I have heard so far I love Faith amazing album Seventeen Seconds to be honest I haven't listened to it properly so can't say I love it but what I have heard I have loved the sound I like there early sound. See as I matured music wise when I have got Into other bands of course u discover every band by there hits normally well most bands but after that I like to go back to the start and see where it all came from where it begun. For example to me the cure were the band who sang boys don't cry, just like heaven, and pictures of you then I decided to listen to you guessed it Disintegration lol and I loved the full album. So I thought I need to go to the start and work my way forward I did jump forward to 2000 because I heard and have the blu ray that Pornography disintegration and blood flowers is a trilogy anyway had a few beers my mates are off home I'm gonna play Pornography on the blu ray again that sounds wrong lol I don't hate it all just the full album to me don't float as well as the other 2 in my thoughts
