Live report September 17th Riot Fest

We’ve already covered Chicago’s underhand methods to bump themselves up the sky scraper league table, so let’s lay bare some more of the city’s rich history. Home to some of the world’s most attractive firefighters, the city was also a hot bed of murder & deceit as showgirls Velma Kelly & Roxie Hart both stood accused of offing their lovers by gun death probably brought on due to the copious amount of jazz they were both forced to listen to.
While awaiting trial, they both spent their time in jail singing & dancing to make the hours speed past as fast as possible.
After a falling out Velma tricked Roxie into thinking she was pregnant despite the fact she hadn’t bumped uglies with her hubby for over 4 months.
After being acquitted at her trial, Roxie immediately stopped being famous and so she hooked back up with Velma for a triumphant comeback in a story most well known for people sitting on chairs in an eccentric manner.
The story dominated the press in the 20’s & was originally dubbed “Chaircago” due to the novel manner of chair-play throughout. But city officials insisted that the name be changed in an effort to deflect from the negative publicity over the controversy surround the whole hydraulic lift episode as murderous vaudevillians were deemed much less divisive & more in touch with the people who could all now mimic the art of sitting on a chair back to front in their own homes.

But enough of the history & on to the main event where sang , olivier , fiveswinglive , & Danielle will be looking to have a riot of their own this evening as our band of merry men take to the stage.
After having their fill of jibarito & Fist City they’ll settle down for a sumptuous dessert consisting of 2 hours & 15 minutes of the finest alternative rock on the planet. Here’s hoping they have a brilliant time with perhaps a couple of surprises thrown in.
