Ladles & jellyspoons, welcome to the opening GW of the new season. This one’s sort of crept up on me as i have been up to my ears in work on the new gaff, the recent tour & relatives visiting. But I think we’re all set to go for the season where reigning champions, the Blood Brothers & Sisters will be looking to retain their crown once again. With the transfer window still firmly propped open, it’s worth paying attention to your squads today so as not to include Harry Kane who appears to be off to Germany where he’ll have at least half a chance of winning some silverware. A lot of new names to pick from too this kick off weekend which, I’m sure, will be pretty much “suck it & see” in terms of strategy before a flurry of wild cards before GW2 A quick look at the fixtures this weekend
So another new season & the situation seems to be relatively normal. FFP FC took just 4 minutes to get on the scoresheet, Chelski bought even more players despite falling foul of FFP regulations. But I guess a £8.6m sweetener to UEFA sweeps that under the carpet right? Neverton neglected to buy a striker in the summer & a Kane-less Spurs is still spursy. But at least Palace are making an early charge for a European spot next season But, so that I don’t get booked for time wasting, I should get on to the main event. On 779 points, the BB&S snatched the opening GW with the EIB in a not too distant second place. The early standings
Double bubble for the BB&S taking the H2H by 2 points on 18 for the week as the IGM tuck in just behind on 16. Here’s the table
As is customary, the
all go to Mort who tops the early table having raked in an impressive 85 points on the opening weekend.
At a meeting in the shed shortly after the weekend, we thanked our lucky starts that our shed isn’t in the garden that is the entrance to the away end of a premier league stadium. Like Luton’s Kenilworth Road. We’ll be a game short this weekend, as Luton v Burnley has been postponed due to the former’s new stand not yet being ready for the TV cameras. Despite it being perfectly okay for televised FA cup matches in the past. Anyhoo, I’d best wrap this up before Andy Madley issues another yellow after his bumper haul of eight at the weekend. See you all on Heartland for GW2

I just looked. Why do you have Cancelo? I thought he fell out with Pep last year to the point it wasn't recoverable.
