A concert visit is similar to going to your favourite restaurant. You love the food, the ambience, the other diners have similar tastes to yours, and you know the waiters will look after you. Even though the owner has threatened to close the place down since 1982 & the menu has changed little since 2008, you know that the quality is always excellent. What's more Roberto the head chef has honed his culinary skills since he made his first batch of sultana scones during a home economics class at St Wilfreds Comprehensive school in the 70s. He knows what you like & never fails to deliver.
A festival is a cold finger buffet at the local Village Hall on a Saturday evening, when due to diary mismanagement Betty from the Woman's Institute has to provide the catering for the regional Philatelic Society, the Naughty Forties Rumba class and young Noah's Bar Mitzvah. There's a little bit of something for everyone but you just want to leave before the local Rugby Club arrive, offending everyone and blocking the toilets.
I've read this thread back a few times now and I still can't identify where it went off the rails for mutilatedcorpse....
I think he took @notkristie 's answer to gongoro73 by mistake as and answer to him... which is a shame, since he was a great writer with nice posts I thought.
I’m sorry about that. It was not my intention at all. I was just giving my opinion on festivals and trying to be respectful with every take on the subject.

And I believe you were successful in doing so.
I think using the term “push back” when someone shares a differing opinion is an interesting and somewhat revealing choice of words. I think there may have been some projection going on….

I believe it was not your answer but the joke from @notkristie that was mistaken, since it was towards you. Anyway, we're all here to say what we want and I believe that happens with the greatest respect (at least that is how I feel about it).
