Last show before crossing the border & our lads will be taking the 3 hour trip to Seattle while Simon cycles it in 16 & a half hours just in time for the soundcheck.
The first thing people think of when Seattle in mentioned is, of course, the classic 1993 slush-fest starring Forrest Gump & the woman called Sally who Harry met. And while it did much for Seattle’s dwindling tourism industry, it was largely a subliminal ad for the first Starbucks. Hence the “Sleepless”.
The real reason for it being on the map was its most famous resident, Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmanuel Ambroise Diggs. He was the legend who brought the Emerald City to the fore, even having a custom-made path['url] leading directly to the centre to lure assorted witch murderers, farm ornaments, savannah dwelling apex predators & cybermen to have their wishes granted.
With the legend in place, Seattle’s attraction was unquestionable & the population continued increasing as more people arrived with talking animals & scrap metal to ask for their wishes to be granted. However, the last we saw of Oz was him flying off in a hot air ballon. But he should be back pretty soon once he realises Dorothy fell out.
Seattle is also known as the most hungover city in the north west. So much so that Seattleites (not to be confused with space junk) buy 50% more sunglasses than the national average each year to mask their puffy, bloodshot eyes after a night on the sauce.
Following the yellow brick road this evening will be Seattle’s second most famous resident, chuckrh who will tuck into one or two savoury Dutch babies alongside a couple of Two Beers….that makes four doesn’t it? We hope you have a great time & that your wishes are granted.
