Getting packed up for my Nine Inch Nails roadtrip tomorrow. About to go fuel up & get some cash. I'm very excited for the show! NIN & Roger Waters in the same month is some good rocking, haha. I'm bringing extra clothes in case the drive goes better than anticipated. It's 3 hours to the hotel, so that will be a test. If it does go well I might keep going & drive to Bend, OR for the show Friday night. That's another 3 hours from Portland. NIN change the setlists radically every night for the non-festival shows. Probably won't happen but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. The old boy scout in me, haha.
PS: has anyone heard of a band called Yves Tumor? They're opening both shows.
Helping my niece prep for her first EVER day of school tomorrow! Funny thing is that I don’t remember school starting so late, back in the day, summer vacation would start July 1, and we’d go back on one of the last days of August. Anyway, exciting times for my little niece!

Nice! Maybe the late start has to do with kindergarten. I'm sure she'll love it.

She actually skipped kindergarten (long story) and is going right into grade 1! I hope she loves it! Don’t know why I’m so nervous about this!
Watching strangers pick up the ‘free’ items I left on the curb. This city has official ‘free’ days where citizens can leave items they no longer want on the curb of the road. Lots of people spend the day driving around looking for things that are new to them. It’s great! I got rid of my bbq and my fish tank with all the accessories already.
My friend gave me a driving lesson in his jeep today. I never learnt how to drive standard, so I thought it would be a good time to start. At this point though, I definitely prefer driving an automatic as there’s less thinking involved. Driving the jeep with the top off felt pretty cool though!

I've always driven stick shift. Except when I lived for a while in Texas. I fondly remember the first time I ever drove an automatic & the habit of pushing hard down on the clutch had been burnt into my brain. Never stopped a car so fast in my life.
