Even though I don't covet any of the posters or see myself buying them (at least not yet?), the more I think about some aspects of this the better I feel about it.
The commodification of music does sucketh since the emphasis is on raking in the $ through the sale of cheap goods. But real artists were hired to make these posters. It's really, really, really hard for artists to get paid for their work. Whomever came up with this idea and executed it has done a great deal to try to help other artists with exposure and some $$$. That's a beautiful thing. I can tell it was done very thoughtfully.
I have to wonder, given the psychedelic nature and similarities to 60's music posters, if they remind RS of seeing posters in his older brother's bedroom... That would be a lovely homage to him.

One can easily steal their music. Can't steal a poster. I love the posters. Not all of them but I'm curious to see what Philly and ny will look like. If i like them I'll probably just get those 2. The artists doing them is an added bonus.

Any form of art can be “stolen”, though, I think. There’s nothing keeping anyone from copying and selling other forms of these pieces, save karma and the law. Thinking of all the unlicensed carp out there.
hm. definitely some missing. I didn't actually check it that carefully! some california shows, new york, philly. never mind! but it's most of them at least!
I really love them, more and more. I'd be very happy to have at least the two cat posters, Austin and Albuquerque (from those we've seen). NOLA is breathtaking, Portland and Vancouver are beautiful, too. And the one for tonight in Phoenix, lovely!
I think the idea of making them so different, created by different artists is just brilliant.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
That's only 20... is there maybe a missing second image?
This image has been circulating for a few days now. I have not seen anything other than these 20. It's missing a good number of dates, including LA, SF, and NYC.
I collect gig posters if it's specific to a date and venue/event, like these. I have a bunch framed in my office and more in storage.
I'll definitely pickup the Cleveland poster for this tour, but I'm on the fence on the NYC ones. Based on what they did for San Diego, Montreal, and Atlanta, I'm assuming the NYC posters will be the same images but with altered colors and dates. Not sure If I will pull the trigger on all three if they are all the same image with just some color variation.
Now in red. It just can’t get any better. And I’m now seeing the whole “girl in his mind’s eye” thing. His bouffant also reminds me of a fortune teller.
