Ok I'll change my vote to 5 new songs if there's 10 tracks on the new album.
Is there a time length for Moonsong? Then we can add up the total time for the supposed album above and see if it matches the 67 (?) minutes that was announced.
I'd be happy to be wrong about it, but I think that supposed length was just one of those things Robert fancically says in interviews, but with little grounding into the realm of reality.
And that songlist seems something someone just made up to me.
But who knows, we'll see. As of now I hope for at least one new song, but I'm trying to keep my expectations low.
The runtime of the album had not been mentioned by Robert, but by German concert promoter Karsten Jahnke. But of course there could have been changes in the meantime.
I go with 2. Didn't they soundcheck a new song somewhere in Europe. So, I guess we'll get to hear that and maybe another 1 or 2. I don't think they'll play more than 5 new songs at any given show though.
Allegedly they soundchecked Another Happy Birthday. But it's still up for debate whether or not that was the techs playing it.
Thanks Steve. That's the one. I couldn't remember the details. Hopefully, we'll get to hear it this time round.
Yes the success of this tour might well inspire more music to be made before the next leg. I'm optimistic. Not that it will be released anytime soon but yeah, you understand. They will continue.
So we have our answer. One new new (old reworked) song, that got dropped after playing a few times. Happy?
To be honest, no. I was hoping for more new material, especially since there is no indication that a new album is actually on the way any time soon.
I would have been fine with no new songs played on this tour if they had announced an official release date for the album.
If it comes out in 2024, the "new" songs will be 2 years old at that point.
Momentum is important.
They have already sort of wasted very good material by letting it out without an album release (e.g. Please Come Home, A Boy I Never Knew, It Can Never Be The Same).
Yes, the latter is in an official live release, but that's different from featuring in a studio album.
I also had hoped for more new (new) songs during the US-Tour, but that does not mean that this tour wasn´t great so far. "Another Happy Birthday" has grown on me as I already wrote in another posting, but from what I perceived the audience reaction during the concerts was pretty lukewarm to this song (unlike the reaction to the other new songs). Maybe this is the reason Robert dropped it from the setlist so soon.

Reeves said in an recenct interview that they recorded 34 (!) new songs for the new album(s). I hope they finish the album first, before writing new music again.

That's demos, not finished songs, as far as I've understood. Out of those 34, only a smaller bunch have been given vocals and lyrics.
Yes, I know. I just wanted to point out, that they wrote plenty of new music and I do not see the need to write even more music, before putting out the new album(s).
New album could turn out to be a double LP or anything at all in the end really, we don't have a clue. If it ever sees the light of day. Maybe RS wants to change it all again...

double album?
not a chance
9 to 10 songs it will be,i believe.
Half of them if not more have already been performed live
title exists same goes for the artwork ,new logo has been released, producer has been announced.
I think it is up to RS and only when it will officially see the light of day.
And now,how many 'new' songs might they perform during S/A live events??!
p.s. : also i feel like the label will be Fiction Records,full/full circle.

I know but just because it exists and has been announced doesn't mean it won't change. All of those things.
