Finished it this morning. It was entertaining. I'm glad he's realized his enjoyment of writing books, in addition to lyrics. If you are a fan of his, follow him, etc., you will probably love it. If you like memoirs, or reading about scenes you wish you'd been a part of, then it could very well be your jam.
It seems like an expansion of Cured, stories and remembrances maybe he wished he'd been able to include in that book. It's time spent remembering the vibrancy of his formative years. As an aside, it's rare to find a goth who wears that proverbial name tag so readily, IME. Either people don't like or believe in the label, or they don't think they are goth enough. He really seems to identify with it.
It may not be fair of me to say, but I just feel like he can't get out of living in the past. Most of us have our fond memories of being young, naive, and wrinkle-free, and few of us have had the cool experiences he's had. But there is so much more after that. If being creative is of central importance to your life, I would think you would keep developing new ideas rather than rehashing old ones. I'm ready for a new story. No ill will meant.

I got this book as I enjoyed Cured which was a very honest book and acknowledged both his positive and destructive contributions to the band.
This book feels like someone told him he needed to reclaim his place within the history of the band, front cover saying co-founder of The Cure and calling himself a musical partner to RS, like his time in the band was the Lennon/McCartney era.
The book isn’t really a deep dive into Goth, more how he bumps into some of the bands on nights out! I also didn’t need a couple of pages with a breakdown of the songs on the two Joy Division albums.
I suppose the book annoyed me as never subscribed to the idea The Cure were a goth band, was always a lazy label for a band that could never be labelled either musically or visually.
