I take it most dislike The 13th? Not a smart idea for a first single but wacky and different enough from everything else that I can't help liking it myself these days.
I love it.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
i quite like 'want',the rest of the album i find dull, uninspiring, uninteresting,in fact a lot of it is just plain awful. i don't even care for the b sides a lot of people seem to rate...the whole thing is just not for me. this album, along with 4:13(equally as bad to me) are both way,way out ahead as the worst cure records.
all just opinions though innit
I would add The Cure album to that worst list as well.
This is my least favorite. I don't even remember the last time i listened to it. But i still like it. I like all Cure albums

Yeap, add me as well with you.
+1
If you will think it for a moment, it is ironic in a way ,i mean the selft titled record of my favourite band/no matter the line-up of artists or the era and it is my least favourite.
Not that i don't like it but i will put it this way,it is the one i have listened the less times over the years.
Anyway back to topic.
I adore WMS.

I didn't purchase the album when it came out but that show was one of the most fun TC shows I've seen. The venue was fairly small, the crowd was great, RS seemed in a great mood (as I've said before) Robert called Mary to have us all sing her Happy Birthday, and Robert came into the crowd to wing Close to Me. So for that reason, I have very fond memories of the album.
There are songs on it that just don't interest me at all (Mint Car, Wrong #), but I really appreciate, as always, the band doing what they want with no apologies. They certainly show range on the album, which I also respect. Taking chances is usually to be admired according to my personal values. Who cares if others don't appreciate the end product, as long as you stay true to yourself?
I didn't like it much at the time. It's grown on me over the years despite its patchiness. Some great songs and some truly awful ones (at times I manage to forget that The 13th is actually a Cure song). As others have said, not their best but still better than the last two albums.

Wrong Number ISN'T a WMS track.Just mention it.
it was a one-off single back in 1997 and actually until today the only studio song that Reeves has taken part of (a certain guitar part)
And as always,if my memory serves me well...
By the way (out of topic) have you finally received your copy of 'wish' remastered from Rhino US ?

Curious you see.
Oh, whoops.
I don't have Galore (don't get the point) and since I don't like the song and never listen to it/would skip it, I didn't devote memory cells to it. I'm not really one for having a good memory and I tend to ignore silly details like track listings if I don't care for something much.
I did, indeed, get my copy of Wish, thanks for asking!
