Thanks for this steve. There are some i don't know. I wish they could make available all the ones that won't be released on the 3cd deluxe set using a temporary website, as they did for Disintegration.
Just a FYI. Universal's recorded music arm made a 16% increase in revenue in the first quarter of the year. & they're passing increased freight/ postage costs on to fans. Moreover, their logistics provider, given their business is, you know, logistics, should know full well what, if any, import duties will apply. There is no way I should be able to buy the 3CD bundle locally (cheaper than the Universal site is charging by the way) & not have 27% VAT heaped on top. The €21.60 (8,490 HUF) I'm paying includes the VAT (~€6) & the shipping from the UK (€7). That would make that 3CD bundle just €8.60 without all the BS fees added. Someone (who made €1.7bn in revenue on recorded music alone till March) is cashing in big time.

I think it's quite disgusting really. Yet the fans still lap it up like they're being done a massive favour. They're not. They're getting fleeced. I've not even bothered to calculate what the mark up rip off is on the vinyl & cassette bundles. But I'm guessing it won't be less than the 60% being piled on top of the 3CD bundle. Interesting to see the single CD option is €6.99 while the 3CD is €21.99 (why the heck they can't round up that 1cent I'll never know). That makes the 3CD set €1.02 more expensive than expected already. It cant be the packaging either as the packaging for the single disc option is already part of that €6.99
What pisses me off, (besides the inflated prices on almost every single item produced nowadays) is the impossibilty of buying a record/cd/whatever on a local record shop. Everything is sold out in a blink of an eye with this presale thing, mostly because of scalpers. And then prices skyrocket. Same with gig tickets.

Nowadays it can be quite hard to even find a decent CD/record store. This is something the rip off store day wanted to have at the heart of their thing when they first started. But now it's just a corporate money grab with speculators stocking up on crappy coloured discs & picture discs to flog on evilbay & the like. I'm quite happy I managed to order one from an independent record store in Budapest & skip the behemoths completely.

We still have some good ones. Barcelona also have very nice record stores, better than ours. But yeah, so far from the pre-digital days. I don't know, I still love to go to a record store and get lost in it.
Everything goes to sh*t eventually: record stores, The Cure, western civilization, the planet. No use complaining about any of it. Better to listen to Pornography while you still have your hearing and prepare for the inevitability of dying alone.

I definitely don’t understand the high prices for something that hasn’t been released yet. And I don’t really see the necessity for a Lost Wishes cassette reissue when it’s on the CD.
But I have paid an outrageous price for a CD that is actually scarce before.
re the lost wishes - nostalgia feels I guess. I missed out on one in 1993 so I ordered one now. As a "collector type" I MUST HAVE THESE THINGS.....
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

Jeebuzz! Go put on Doing the Unstuck and Friday I'm in Love to cheer up! Or will that make you sadder?
