Falco's cool (even if I don't speak/understand a word of Austrian )
Really? I read his main language was German.
Haha, sorry, non-Germans/non-Austrians may not get this joke. Of course we all speak German, Germans as well as Austrians. But our dialects are killer really, Austrians do sound very different from Germans and we do have different words for certain things. But of course I do understand Austrians and Falco - most of the time.
Like melly80 and Millhaus already said, we Germans and the Austrian speak the same language. And the dialects are different, okay Bavarian and Austrian sounds a bit the same, at least for me. Okay, i understand Austrian, you know already why
To the topic: I also don't like Nena, she is awful!
I walk wondering why, the same dream so many times
read some familiar name here, some band i've never had the chance to listen to like Malaria, i didn't know they sung in german heard in youth some tune by Die Toten Hosen

Oh...ok. Thanks for explaining.
As far as Nena goes, I only mentioned her cos I got her 99 Luftballoons album---on VYNIL! Ugh, I am soooo showing my age. Now that I think of it, I don't think I've played it since I got it back in '84!

I think, I really like you, Mr. Italy!
Do you like Köstritzer Schwarzbier? It's the local beer, you know, from Thuringia, the German region that simply rocks.
Die Toten Hosen rock, they have several great songs. (and great lyrics...and they've got Campino )

I was actually planning to travel to Thüringen right now, but changed plans due o the horrible weather (snow and ice is quite bad for living in a camping car ) Köstrizer will be tasted for sure

unfortunatey i don't know well German geography and the natural isolation we lived(and still live!!!) here on the rock didn't allow me to know and be informed about music, dates of concerts, food and traditions of foreigner countries. so you can understand what great effort there is behind my knowledge of music. back on topic: i know Einsturzende Neubaten, some early Laibach(i think i was german), X-Mal Deutschland (i listened to them the first time just some year ago)
One of the best songs ever written to my mind. Incredibly sad lyrics and rather old, I grew up in the GDR and my parents had quite a lot of records by GRD bands ("Western" music was hard to get in the GDR) and some of them weren't that bad. This one's one of my favourite songs of all time. But all in allI'm more into English music, I don't own any records by bands singing in German. Weird, I know...
You all have to travel to Thüringen. Weimar,Jena, Erfurt, Eisenach, Saalfeld! Great food (REAL BARBECUES!!!), great beer, awesome people. Oh, and the local band, Northern Lite (but they sing in English).
