Almost a week after Eden’s wonderful debut & the band have arrived in Moscow’s Park Kolomenskoye for a picnic.
Known for it’s history of wooden palaces that infrequently got torn down & rebuilt, the park now hosts a bunch of different historic wooden buildings that were moved there from various parts of the former USSR.
But, amongst all the timber stands the Ascension Church which was built to celebrate the birth of Ivan The Terrible who isn’t the former tennis player (because he was actually pretty good). Nope, the terrible one was the first Tsar & renowned for massacring people & wearing silly hats.
Despite the efforts of Hollywood blockbuster, Police Academy: Mission To Moscow the city’s profile remained fairly anonymous. Critics put this largely down the fact that Moses Hightower wasn’t cast in the final episode of the procedural film series. However, bloke down the pub asserts that it was Tackleberry & his massive gun that really hindered the project.
However, patience paid off & it was thrust into the public eye in 2002 for all eternity thanks to teenage pop duo, t.A.T.u. & their mega hit All The Things She Said which showcased the city’s rain, umbrellas, chicken wire fences & fluff showers making it a must-visit destination globally with a rich musical legacy.
Now that you all know all there is to know about Moscow, let’s see who’s going shall we?
happytheman will be lugging his picnic basket there & no doubt it’ll be stocked with plenty of Pirozhki & Medovik, not to mention a well chilled bottle of Stolichnaya Elit (well, it is a special occasion ) Have a blast G.
